Contract
This document contains important information about our services and the ways we protect your manuscript. You will sign a similar document just before coaching begins. We try to keep this document short, clear, and easy to follow.

Business Relationship
1. This contract is between the listed client (you/your) and Len & Tyne Books, a registered DBA of Ralph (RJ) and Rebekah McKamie (we/us/our).
2. By signing, you understand that Rebekah, RJ, or any employee of Len & Tyne Books may complete the work as agreed. Any person assigned is qualified and skilled in the work to be completed and will take excellent care of your manuscript.
3. We are a contractor, not an employee. As such, we determine our own terms, working hours, conditions, equipment, and materials.
4. You understand that we at Len & Tyne Books are human. We are highly qualified and dedicated to the craft, but we are not perfect and cannot fully anticipate the whims of your intended audience. Further, you are under no obligation to agree with or comply with any suggestion you receive from us. You will therefore not request refunds, chargebacks, or take legal action against us for any imperfections, personal preferences, or differences of opinion. We are also not doctors or lawyers. It is your responsibility to ensure that any completed document complies with laws, rules, or regulations in your area. We are not counselors or mental health professionals, and our advice cannot be taken as such.
5. We do not require or ask you to credit us in any publication, but we welcome it if you do choose to mention us!
Project & Payment
6. Details about the project are listed in your proposal, invoice, or receipt, and may include one-on-one coaching sessions and manuscript reviews.
7. The scheduled date(s) of the project will be discussed via email, video consultation, and/or included in this proposal or invoice.
8. Payment for Intensives and Assessments is due in full, in advance of the services unless otherwise arranged with Len & Tyne Books. The payment covers only the time-period of the intensive. If the project continues after the purchased time period, an additional intensive or monthly retainer will need to be paid.
9. Monthly retainers cover the 30 days following payment. If a retainer is not received within 7 days of the monthly due date, services will be canceled. Once services begin, no refunds will be given for any service.
10. LIVE calls/chat sessions can be scheduled on a one-time or weekly basis. If a session must be skipped by either party with advance notice of at least one hour, it will be rescheduled for a later time. If no notice is given, the session will be canceled (not rescheduled) and no refunds will be given.
Virtual sessions may be recorded or transcribed at the discretion of Len & Tyne Books, usually to help track progress!
12. When necessary, you will submit your material through email attachment or Slack no less than 24 hours before a scheduled coaching session so that your coach can review the materials in advance. If materials are not submitted by that time, the session will need to be rescheduled or canceled with no refund.
13. If both parties agree, the format of coaching sessions may change, or any session may be skipped with no refund.
14. You may receive your completed project in a different form than submitted, and you may also receive additional documents with explanations and instructions pertaining to your project.
Artificial Intelligence
15. We do not use generative artificial intelligence (AI) or upload any part of your manuscript into any AI module. Ever.
16. We ask that you disclose any AI usage to determine if we are the best fit for your manuscript. In most cases, we do not prefer to work on AI generated manuscripts, as we are best equipped to work with human writers.
Confidentiality
17. We are performing services on your intellectual property, and it will remain yours throughout the process. We will keep your data confidential and will never use your proprietary information for our gain. If this agreement does not suffice, we will sign any additional documents to confirm your ownership, but these documents will need to be prepared and presented by you, the client.
Severability and Disputes
18. This contract may be terminated with written notice of either party, but payment for completed work must be settled upon termination.
19. If any provision of this agreement or any portion thereof shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable.
20. Any disputes are subject to the laws of Idaho.
